03/2025 – present
As an external specialist, I support clients with the automation of their Linux infrastructures. My focus is on developing tailored automation solutions and scripts with various languages and tools that automate repetitive processes and make system administration more efficient. Depending on requirements, I also manage Windows environments and take on tasks in adjacent areas such as networking or security. When needed, I share knowledge with team members to build sustainable competencies within the teams. The individual projects and references can be found in the project overview.

03/2025 – 07/2025
After my official departure from CSD (Strehlow), I completed various tasks and projects as a side job. In particular, I continued to handle the Linux administration and created and expanded documentation. To ensure that Windows deployment via the WDS/MDT server continued to run smoothly, I trained and further supported a colleague.
01/2024 – 02/2025
At CSD Holding (Strehlow) I essentially served as a bridge between the IT service (helpdesk) and the system administrators, as well as a DevOps engineer for the development department (PIM). My main responsibilities included general 2nd-level support for Windows Server, Active Directory and Exchange Server, as well as supporting the IT service with 1st-level support. Additionally, I managed the Linux infrastructure consisting of servers (Debian/Ubuntu, RHEL) and Docker containers (Portainer). For repetitive processes, I implemented an Ansible environment with Semaphore UI and the already existing GitLab server. Here I created a collection for Linux maintenance processes and one for coordinated app recycling of Microsoft IIS. Furthermore, I was responsible for Windows deployment (WDS/MDT) and the automation of tasks via PowerShell. After my official departure at the end of February 2025, I continued to support the company as a Linux system administrator on a part-time basis (remote) to complete open tasks and projects.
05/2019 – 12/2023
At LOOMA, I was significantly involved in the transformation from a traditional IT service company to a modern Managed Service Provider (MSP). My focus was on migrating and adapting customer systems to the new MSP models, transferring existing infrastructures completely or in a hybrid manner to modern cloud environments. A core task was the migration from on-premises Exchange servers to Microsoft 365. The transformation also included building a Linux infrastructure (Debian/Ubuntu) with open-source solutions such as Proxmox VE and OPNsense. As a monitoring solution, we implemented Zabbix including proxy structures in our data centers and at our customers' sites. Additionally, I was responsible for our customers' Xibo servers and supported them with campaigns and technical questions.
05/2014 – 04/2019
At team logistik GmbH, I was the sole administrator responsible for the Haldensleben branch and additionally supported the IT of the headquarters. Besides 1st-level support for all computer workstations, mobile phones and digital truck systems (digital tachograph and telematics system), I administered the local Windows Server infrastructure including Exchange Server and managed the Securepoint firewalls. Additionally, I supported the setup and IT alignment of new branches with the existing company structures. And because during harvest season everyone has to pitch in, and since I hold a truck driving license, I also served as a truck driver and dispatcher on the side.
07/2002 – 04/2014
After my internship, I was directly hired and worked for over 10 years at the IT service company in Berlin. There I worked in 2nd/3rd-level support for Windows environments and printer systems, for various companies and public institutions. Additionally, we carried out IT relocations for various government offices and institutions to Berlin. A large part of my work consisted of supporting the Berlin City Sanitation Services (BSR), where I was deployed on-site as a system technician. There I administered the IBM POS cash register systems at the recycling centers and in the canteens, as well as the industrial computer systems at the Ruhleben waste-to-energy plant. My area of responsibility included the management of IPC systems for scales, conveyor systems and recycling systems.
07/2000 – 06/2002
After military service, I reoriented myself professionally and began training as an IT specialist. The focus was on Windows Server environments and Novell NetWare, though the latter was already in decline. Besides network technologies, I learned the general fundamentals of computer science and programming, which laid the foundation for my further IT career. I completed my internship at Systemhaus Datentechnik Berlin GmbH, where I gained my first practical experience in a professional IT environment.
07/1999 – 06/2000
After my apprenticeship, I went directly into military service with the Panzergrenadierlehrbataillon 334 "CELLE" and the Panzerpionierlehrkompanie 90. During this time, I decided to extend my service to 12 months and transfer to the enlisted career track. During service, I was deployed as a machine gunner on the Transportpanzer Fuchs armored personnel carrier. The duties of the training units included supporting the Panzertruppenschule Munster with various combat exercises and training.
08/1996 – 06/1999
My first career choice led me into carpentry apprenticeship, where I learned both the traditional and modern craft. Originally I was attracted by the manual and artistic aspects of this profession, which quickly changed to an interest in machines and equipment. During the apprenticeship, I was trained on the newly acquired woodworking machines and machining centers and subsequently participated in CNC programming and setup. During this time, I gained my first experience in computer technology and programming.
